My mediums are pen, paint, plants, ceramics and fibers. With these I continue to learn, grow, and channel my expression while balancing refinement in my making.
I make from the heart. No two pieces are alike. Each one special in its own way. I let the feels from my heart and soul move through my hands into the pieces. I play with expressing and celebrating softness, joy, the sacred, and a deep devotion to Earth. I strive to let the materials —land, animal, or sea— tell the story, held by my loving craftsmanship.
My focus shifts with the seasons, and as these days grow longer and warmer in the PNW, I’m outside creating more than at my spinning wheel or potter’s wheel. I’m skirting and washing wool in the shade, harvesting plants for dye at dawn, growing nourishing food for myself, neighbors and pollinators, and feeding my soul with time with kin and long walks. These are not just part of my process of making—these ARE the process.
